  1. Dianne,
What a great post on getting to the heart of things! Nice stopping by today from the #GraceandTruth #Linkup

  2. I loved this, Dianne. As you asked the question, ‘what does God really want’, my mind immediately went to Micah 6. But it’s so much easier to know the verse than live it out, huh? 🙂
Thanks for sharing this and piercing my heart too, dear friend.

Thanks, Sherry … when you get down to it … God only wants a few things. Thanks for stopping by today.

  4. Dianne Thornton says:

Definitely easier to say than to live out … I think it’s a daily challenge for most of us. Love you, my friend!

  5. I love this verse too! It’s one of those that seems simple and straight-forward until I try to live it out consistently. Thanks for the reminder to not get too complicated or superficial about serving God, but just stick to the basics.

  6. I love the practical simplicity of the way you described mercy and humility. This post is clear, concise, and memorable, Diane. Linking with you at Grace and Truth. I’ll enjoy sharing this around:)

  7. I’ll take the zing however God wants to deliver it too, girl. I love your spin on this verse. I remember doing the exact thing in college and Christian high school. So holier-than-thou. It’s easy to elevate ourselves when we just KNOW we’re in the right, but God wants us to be humble, not right. Just – but not right.

We can’t bring people to Jesus by always being right!

Love your heart, gal. Sharing your word with my fb readers. 🙂

  8. Dianne Thornton says:

That’s it in a nutshell, Elizabeth … sticking to the basics … thanks for coming by!

  9. Dianne Thornton says:

Thank you, Ginger, for the sweet compliment. The simplest truths don’t need a lot of extras, do they.

  10. Dianne Thornton says:

It’s embarrassing to think about those days, Ruthie. Embarrassing and sad … BUT … God uses it all to grow us. LOVE YOU!

  11. I so appreciate your honesty and transparency, Dianne. Thankfully, He uses such things as opportunities to teach others. Nothing is ever wasted with Him. Thanks for sharing of Grace and Truth.

  12. Found your blog today and this is the first post that I have read.

I am facing a situation that is puzzling me a lot. (Rest of comment withheld due to its sensitive nature.)

  13. Dianne Thornton says:

    Hi, Esther.

My heart breaks for you. I want to fully respond to your concerns, but I also want to pray over it as well.

I’m not leaving your whole comment here, as it is deeply personal. If you’ll send me an email I can reach you at (use my CONTACT ME form, it will be private), I will respond in a couple of days!

    Lifting you before the throne,
    Dianne

    ((hugs))
